Friends of Studio 61 Gallery Exhibitions Listings For 2013

Seasonal and musical the Friends of Studio 61 Gallery have put together a wonderful exhibition programme for 2013. Each exhibition has a song as its title which reads like a musical mix tape of holidays and life in the British landscape. See if you can guess the  bands behind the song titles!

Starting off in March with a joint collection of works with a refreshing spring theme. April will inspire with Jenny Aitken and Nansy Ferret with their unique exhibition of storytelling and life with breath-taking and quirky landscapes.

Continuing through to the summer, with a seaside theme that will bring the coast into the heart of Derbyshire with top artists including Cornish loving Sheffield artist Julia Crossland, Mel Anderson and Helen Rhodes.

Mid Summer another joint friends exhibition will showcase Cornish inspired works in various mediums and late summer ‘Gone Surfing ‘ Karina Goodman and Martin Sloman will relate the love of all things coastal that is at the heart of the ethos of the gallery.

September and the feel swings towards ‘Stormy weather’ with Gareth Buxtons distinctive moody mountain landscapes. Followed by wonderful autumnal  wildlife art of award winning watercolour painter Jenny Oldknow.

And as winter approaches Ruth Gray will display misty atmospheric landscapes in her exhibition ‘November Rain’. A big explosive finale joint exhibition by the friends will bring the programme to a close with Thunderstruck! Where the various friends will delight with winter weather inspired works, full of the power of nature.
